Frequently Asked Questions

Whose apartments are they? Who are you?

We (a group of five people) own this large, family-sized holiday apartment in the Buena Vista development. We do not own the whole of the development (total around 40 apartments). We actually also own a few other apartments in the development, although these are usually rented out  long-term and are not available for holiday lettings. We also own the majority share of the pool. The pool is only available to around six apartments, not to the whole development, so its never crowded, and frequently the renters of our big apartment have the pool completely to themselves.

We use the big apartment for our own holidays and those of friends and family, and we rent it out the rest of the time.

Why do you recommend that people renting from you have a car or scooter?

Because the apartments are in a rural location, not in the middle of a town. You can't just walk outside and hail a taxi.

Although the nearest shops, restaurants and bars etc are only 15 minutes walk away, in practice we have found that when people rent the flats with no transport of their own, they quickly get sick of having to walk for quite a while to go anywhere. And the apartments are on a hillside, and walking up the hill is hard work, especially in the hot sun.

Also, relying on buses to travel around Ibiza means that it takes a long while to get from one town to another.

We would rather tell people this clearly, up front, than have people rent from us and then not like it.

If you plan to come to Ibiza and hire a car, be aware that generally people under 21 cannot hire cars, and also it is essential to pre-arrange car hire in peak season - don't just arrive at the airport and expect to book a hire car there - they are often all booked up in July and August.

What kind of place is Buena Vista? Is it lively?

The Buena Vista development is a quiet, rural residential complex of apartments. The apartments are owned by private individuals, who use them for their own holidays and for their friends. Some people live in theirs as their main home. Buena Vista is NOT a "holiday complex" used by tour operators. There is a shared swimming pool (which we own) but there is not a bar or restaurant or other entertainment in the complex.

By all means come to Ibiza to party in the clubs and bars (we do!), but respect the fact that Buena Vista itself is not a "noisy" party centre. Please respect the neighbours - the permanent residents are not on holiday, and have to get up for work in the morning. It is not fair to them to make noise late at night.

Do you have apartments anywhere else in Ibiza?

No. We just have the places on this web site. We can't recommend or book other accommodation for you, sorry.

Can you advertise my apartment for me?

No, sorry. We are not a letting agent. We are just a group of private individuals who rent out our own property in a small way. If you want to take ideas from this web site, feel free, so long as you ask us first.

Can you help me to find a job in Ibiza?

No, sorry we haven't got any jobs on offer. But try this web site:

http://www.theshipinnibiza.com

- this popular British bar in San An has an on-line noticeboard for jobs and accommodation
